9 Mega Development Projects Launched Under Punjab Development Programme in Faisalabad Division

Faisalabad: Under the development vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a landmark Punjab Development Programme has been launched in Faisalabad Division aimed at providing modern urban facilities to the public at the grassroots level. Under the programme, nine mega development projects worth billions of rupees will be completed in the three districts of Faisalabad Division, including Faisalabad, Jhang and Toba Tek Singh. In Faisalabad district, development schemes will be implemented in Tehsil City, Jaranwala, Tandlianwala and Chak Jhumra, while in Toba Tek Singh district the schemes will cover Kamalia, Gojra and Toba Tek Singh tehsil, and in Jhang district the projects will be executed in Jhang tehsil. All urban development and local government schemes are targeted to be completed before the upcoming monsoon season. In this regard, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Faisalabad Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar, during which deputy commissioners briefed the participants on the progress of the projects. The meeting was informed that the schemes include installation of Tuff Tiles, upgradation of sewerage lines and resolution of long-standing sanitation issues. The commissioner directed that the processes of master planning, tendering and work award be completed without delay and stressed the need for effective coordination among assistant commissioners, NESPAK, the Local Government Department and the Project Management Unit. He further instructed that development work should commence in double shifts immediately after the award of contracts and stated that he would personally visit the relevant tehsils on a weekly basis to monitor implementation. Emphasising the chief minister’s instructions, the commissioner said that effective, fast-track and quality implementation of the Punjab Development Programme was a top priority, directing deputy commissioners to ensure strict monitoring as timely completion with uncompromised quality was essential.
