District Food Controller Toba Tek Singh, Shumaila Bano talking exclusively to our correspondent, said that an adequate supply of wheat flour is available in the market across the district at official rates and there is no shortage in the provision of flour to the public.She stated that in line with the directives of the Punjab Government, wheat flour is being provided to citizens at affordable prices. The District Food Controller added that the flour supply chain is being continuously monitored and field teams are conducting daily inspections of shops and flour sale points. Shumaila Bano further clarified that strict legal action is being taken against those selling flour at prices higher than the officially fixed rates. Fines and cases are also being registered against violators. She urged the public to immediately inform the Food Department if flour is being sold at inflated prices or if any attempt is made to create an artificial shortage, so that timely action can be taken.The District Food Controller also said that the district administration is taking all possible measures to provide relief to the public and is working under a coordinated strategy to ensure the availability of essential commodities and keep prices under control.
