Toba Tek Singh: Assistant Commissioner Kamalia Iqra Nasir, formally inaugurated a Breast Screening Camp at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) Kamalia. On this occasion, Medical Superintendent Dr. Mian Adeel Arif, Admin Officer Ali Tasaram and Ms. Sarah were also present. The hospital’s staff nurses and other medical personnel are actively providing services at the camp.The camp has been organized to raise awareness about breast cancer among women in Kamalia and to ensure early diagnosis. At the camp, Gynecology Specialist Dr. Shabeela Gulnaz is taking detailed medical histories of patients, while Female Surgeon Dr. Amara Nasir is conducting clinical examinations.
Furthermore, Ultrasound Specialist Dr. Arifa Aslam, who has specially arrived from Lahore, is performing ultrasound examinations of the patients. Suspected cases identified during the screening process will be referred to PINUM Hospital for further treatment, where patients will be provided medical care on a priority basis with special facilities and concessions.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mian Adeel Arif emphasized that early diagnosis is crucial for the prevention and effective treatment of breast cancer. He advised women above the age of 30 to undergo breast screening at least once a year, stating that breast cancer can be completely treated at stages one and two, provided it is detected in time.
This free screening camp is a significant step towards protecting the women of Kamalia from the life-threatening disease of cancer.
