Mahera Omar, director of the Pakistan Animal Welfare Society, has raised concerns over the poor living conditions of animals at Karachi Zoo, particularly Rano, the brown bear.
She stated that Karachi’s environment is unsuitable for Rano and urged authorities to relocate the bear to a better habitat in Punjab or Skardu. Animal rights activists have also questioned the welfare of other animals at the zoo, calling on officials to take immediate action to improve their conditions.
