Jeddah: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.
The Prime Minister arrived in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday for a four-day visit, where he was received by Makkah’s Deputy Governor, Prince Saud. Accompanying him were Army Chief General Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Later, in Jeddah, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held talks with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, with key Pakistani officials also present. The discussions covered regional and international developments, as well as Pakistan-Saudi investment and trade relations.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of the historic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and explored ways to enhance cooperation in economic, trade, investment, energy, and defense sectors.
Strengthening Economic and Security Cooperation
The meeting expressed satisfaction over growing economic collaboration between the two nations, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciating Saudi Arabia’s commitment to increasing investments in Pakistan. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening defense and security cooperation.
They also discussed the regional political landscape and agreed to work together to promote stability and prosperity in the region.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman acknowledged the significant contributions of the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia and agreed to enhance welfare measures for them.
