Massive Police Deployment and CCTV Surveillance Ensured for Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr Security

Faisalabad: A comprehensive and foolproof Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr security plan has been finalised across the Faisalabad region on the directives of Sohail Akhtar Sukhera. All district police formations have been instructed to ensure strict law and order and provide maximum facilitation to citizens during the festive period.

Following these directions, the City Police Officer (CPO) Faisalabad and District Police Officers (DPOs) of Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, and Chiniot have prepared detailed security strategies to manage crowds and maintain peace.

Under the Chand Raat security plan, a total of 5,558 police officers and personnel will be deployed at 79 busy markets and major roads across the region. In Faisalabad district alone, 4,873 personnel will be deployed at 59 key markets and rush-prone areas. Additionally, 168 personnel will be stationed in seven markets in Jhang, 335 in eight markets in Toba Tek Singh, and 182 in five markets in Chiniot. To enhance surveillance, 1,495 CCTV cameras have been installed at sensitive and crowded locations.

For Eid-ul-Fitr congregations, extensive security arrangements have also been made. In Faisalabad district, Eid prayers will be offered at 911 enclosed and 236 open venues, while Jhang will have 387 enclosed and 24 open venues. Similarly, Toba Tek Singh will host prayers at 203 enclosed and 17 open locations, and Chiniot at 170 enclosed and 23 open venues. Overall, across the region, Eid prayers will take place at 1,671 enclosed and 300 open locations.

To secure these gatherings, 6,744 police officers and personnel will be deployed, supported by continuous patrolling by the Elite Force, Dolphin Squad, and other mobile units to ensure safety and rapid response.

Special focus has also been given to public and recreational places due to increased activity during the holidays. Security has been ensured at 37 parks, eight riverside locations, 138 shopping malls and restaurants, 108 shrines, and 34 graveyards. For this purpose, 2,066 police personnel have been assigned duties, including plainclothes officers and women police officials to assist families and manage crowds effectively.

RPO Faisalabad Sohail Akhtar Sukhera has further directed strict security arrangements at financial institutions, including the State Bank of Pakistan, commercial banks, and money exchange outlets, to prevent any untoward incidents. He also emphasized maintaining smooth traffic flow, directing the Chief Traffic Officer and SP Traffic officials to ensure proper parking arrangements at congested areas.

Moreover, police pickets are being established at all entry and exit points of cities across the region to enhance monitoring and prevent suspicious movement. The RPO stressed that all officers must remain vigilant and ensure strict implementation of the security plan to provide a peaceful and secure environment for citizens celebrating Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr.
