Independence Day is a Day to Renew Our Unity and Resolve: Bishop Dr. Andreas Rahmat

Let us pay tribute to the sacrifices of our forefathers for the creation of Pakistan and pledge to make every sacrifice for the country’s security, prosperity and development

FAISALABAD (Mian Iftikhar Ahmad): Bishop Dr. Andreas Rahmat has congratulated the people of Pakistan on the 79th Independence Day and said that, in the prevailing circumstances, there is an urgent need for unity and solidarity to overcome the social, political, economic and security challenges facing the nation. He said that we should value the immense sacrifices made by our forefathers for the creation of Pakistan and play our role in the prosperity of the country and its people.
He said that 79 years ago, Pakistan gained independence after a historic struggle under the inspiring leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Independence Day is a symbol of the culmination of our democratic and political struggle for freedom from colonial rule. The day also provides us with an opportunity for self-accountability and introspection.
Bishop Dr. Andreas Rahmat said that we should reflect on the country’s present level of development, the challenges it faces and the opportunities available for its future progress. He said that this is the time to renew our commitment to building a strong, stable and prosperous Pakistan in accordance with the vision of the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
He said that we should rise above personal, political and group interests and give priority to the national interest. We must work together for the security, prosperity and development of Pakistan. Let us pledge on this Independence Day that we will not hesitate to make any sacrifice for the security, prosperity and progress of our beloved homeland.
