Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye Sign Historic Makkah Joint Defence Agreement

Makkah, Saudi Arabia: Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye have entered into a landmark joint defence agreement aimed at strengthening strategic cooperation, mutual security and collective defence among the three countries.
The agreement was signed in Makkah in August 2026 and has been described as an important development in relations between the three Muslim-majority nations. Under the agreement, an armed attack against any one of the three countries will be considered an attack against all three.
The pact is expected to strengthen cooperation in defence, security, intelligence sharing and joint military exercises. It brings together Saudi Arabia’s economic strength, Türkiye’s defence technology and drone capabilities, and Pakistan’s extensive military experience.
Makkah holds special religious significance for Muslims around the world as it is home to the Kaaba and Masjid al-Haram. The signing of the agreement in the holy city has added symbolic importance to the development.
The agreement is being viewed as an important step toward strengthening cooperation, mutual security and strategic coordination among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
