Google has officially introduced its new Pixel 11 series, expanding its flagship smartphone lineup with the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The latest devices bring improvements in design, durability, display technology and storage as Google looks to strengthen its position against Apple and Samsung in the premium smartphone market.
The standard Pixel 11 arrives with a redesigned camera bar that is more than 40% thinner than the previous generation. Google has also refreshed the rear design, replacing the previous look with a single piece of glass extending across the back of the phone. The device features a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smoother visuals and scrolling.
The Pixel 11 will be available in Frost, Hibiscus, Pistachio and Obsidian color options. One of the most significant upgrades is the increase in base storage, with the new series starting at 256GB. This gives users considerably more space for photos, videos, applications and other digital content.
However, the storage upgrade comes with a higher price. The Pixel 11 starts at $899, which is $100 more than the previous model. Google appears to be positioning the increased storage and hardware improvements as justification for the higher starting price.
The Pixel 11 Pro XL comes with a larger 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display and a 5,115mAh battery. The standard Pixel 11 Pro features a 4,850mAh battery. The Pro XL will be offered in Canyon, Fog, Olive and Obsidian, while the Obsidian version features an all-matte finish.
Google has also focused on improving the durability of its latest smartphones. The company says the updated coating offers more than twice the scratch resistance of the previous Pixel 10 Pro, potentially making the new devices better suited to everyday use.
The lineup is completed by the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, Google’s latest foldable flagship. The model features the new Tensor G6 chip and a slimmer design, giving Google a stronger presence in the increasingly competitive foldable smartphone market.
Pre-orders for the Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold are now open, while retail sales are expected to begin on August 20. With larger base storage, redesigned hardware and improved durability, Google is aiming to make the Pixel 11 generation a stronger competitor in the high-end smartphone market.
