September 6 is a glorious chapter of our history, there will be no compromise on national security – Mir Sarfraz Bugti

Quetta (Syed Sardar Mohammad Khondai)

A dignified ceremony was held in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, in connection with Pakistan Defence Day.
During the ceremony, Governor of Balochistan Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, and Corps Commander Balochistan Lieutenant General Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan visited the Martyrs’ Monument (Yadgar-e-Shuhada), laid a floral wreath and offered prayers for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti paid rich tribute to the martyrs and ghazis, saying that September 6 is an unforgettable day in the history of Pakistan that can never be forgotten.
He said that the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defence of the homeland in the 1965 war set an immortal example of bravery and patriotism, and their sacrifices remain a source of courage and guidance for the entire nation even today.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti also saluted all the personnel of the Pakistan Army who are performing their duties efficiently for the defence of the country. He said that the security and sovereignty of Pakistan is paramount and no compromise will be made on it.
The Chief Minister said that the families of the martyrs are a valuable asset of the nation, whose sacrifices and services will always be held in high esteem. The people of Balochistan have always stood shoulder to shoulder with their armed forces when it comes to the defence and security of the country.
He further added that the real strength of Pakistan lies in national unity and cohesion, and we must play our role in protecting the freedom, sovereignty and security of the country with the same unity.
Meanwhile, Defence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm across Balochistan, including Chaman and Pishin. Glowing tributes were paid to martyrs and ghazis, rallies were taken out in different areas, ceremonies were held and fireworks were displayed.
