Federal Minister Shafqat Ali Hosts Fundraising Dinner, Community Leaders and Representatives from Various Sectors Attend

BRAMPTON: A special fundraising dinner was organized for Federal Member of Parliament and Member of Parliament for Brampton–Chinguacousy Park, Shafqat Ali. The event was held on September 3, 2026, at the Capital Banquet Centre and was attended by a large number of people from different sectors of the community, party officials, friends, supporters and dignitaries.

People belonging to the Chinese, Black, Korean, Punjabi and other communities also participated actively in the event. The participants expressed their support for MP Shafqat Ali and contributed to the fundraising campaign.

The event began with the Canadian national anthem. Shafqat Ali’s daughter, Maryam, performed the duties of emcee and smoothly conducted the various segments of the programme.

Fundraising Chair Nadeem Sheikh briefed the participants about the objectives and purpose of the fundraising campaign and thanked all the guests for attending the event in large numbers.

Speaking on the occasion, Liberal Party Brampton–Chinguacousy official Nazia Yasmin said that the Liberal Party is a popular political party in Canada and will continue its efforts to serve the people of Brampton–Chinguacousy. She appreciated the enthusiasm and cooperation of those who participated in the event.

Addressing the gathering, President of the Treasury Board and Federal Minister Shafqat Ali said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Mark Carney, the Liberal government is taking steps to provide every possible facility to Canadians amid the current difficult economic circumstances.

He said the government is taking various measures to help people overcome economic difficulties, including providing relief to families in grocery expenses, supporting small businesses, increasing employment opportunities and taking steps to strengthen the economy.

Shafqat Ali said that the people of Brampton–Chinguacousy and all communities have provided strong support to him and the Liberal Party, for which he expressed his gratitude to everyone.

He said that the confidence of Canadians in Prime Minister Mark Carney is also a reflection of their confidence in the policies of the Liberal Party. He said the Liberal Party’s success in recent by-elections is evidence that the public has confidence in the government’s policies and measures.

Federal Minister Shafqat Ali said that the government is continuously working to help Canadians overcome the current economic difficulties. He said the priorities of the Liberal government include supporting small businesses, creating employment opportunities, providing economic relief to families, addressing housing challenges and strengthening Canada’s economy.

The successful fundraising dinner was held in a warm and positive atmosphere, with a large number of people from different communities attending and expressing their support for MP Shafqat Ali. The enthusiasm and cooperation of the participants highlighted the strong connections and collective spirit among Canada’s diverse communities.
