The meeting discussed a wide range of public-interest issues, problems faced by citizens, the prevailing law and order situation in the region, and matters relating to the rule of law and protection of citizens’ rights.

During the meeting, the demands of the family members of Muntaha Zahra, their ongoing protest, and the unfortunate incidents reported during the protest were discussed in detail. The controversy regarding an alleged attack on police personnel and its various aspects also came under discussion.

The participants stressed that all matters should be examined strictly in accordance with the law and on merit to ensure justice for all affected parties.

The IHRM delegation also apprised the Additional DIG of the facts and public concerns surrounding a recent accident case.

The meeting further focused on the growing menace of drugs in the area, the need for effective measures against drug peddlers, and steps to protect the younger generation from drug abuse.

The participants also exchanged views on improving the overall law and order situation and strengthening coordination between relevant institutions and civil society for the protection of citizens and promotion of peace.

Chaudhry Zafar Gondal said that the International Human Rights Movement Pakistan was committed to protecting the rights of citizens, raising the voice of oppressed and affected people before the relevant forums, and playing its role in the provision of justice while remaining within the framework of law.

He said that positive and constructive engagement with state institutions was essential for resolving public issues and promoting justice, peace, and the rule of law in society.

Additional DIG Muhammad Tariq Malik expressed keen interest in the issues raised by the delegation and assured the participants that all matters would be examined in accordance with the law and on merit.

He assured that every possible step would be taken to ensure justice and protect the rights of citizens.

He maintained that the rule of law, protection of the life and property of citizens, and maintenance of peace and public order were among the fundamental responsibilities of the police, adding that effective measures would continue to be taken in this regard.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the IHRM delegation reiterated its commitment to protecting public rights, raising the voice of victims, and supporting efforts aimed at ensuring justice, peace, and law and order.
