DALLAS, Texas: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has invited American technology companies, investors and business leaders to explore opportunities in Pakistan’s expanding information technology sector, highlighting the potential for long-term partnerships in emerging technologies and digital services.

Addressing the Pak-US Tech Connect 2026 conference in Dallas, Ambassador Sheikh said technological innovation, artificial intelligence, digital transformation and strategic investment were becoming important pillars of the economic relationship between Pakistan and the United States.

The conference brought together representatives of 13 Pakistani technology companies, American corporate executives, investors, technology buyers, strategic partners and members of the Pakistani-American business community.

The event was organised through a collaborative initiative involving the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, D.C., the Consulate General of Pakistan in Houston, Pakistan’s Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, and the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB). It aimed to strengthen Pakistani technology companies’ access to the US market and encourage direct commercial engagement.

Pakistan Seeks a Larger Role in the Global Technology Market

Addressing business leaders and technology professionals, Ambassador Sheikh highlighted Pakistan’s growing information technology capabilities and its potential to serve as a competitive partner for American businesses seeking digital services and technology solutions.

He noted that the United States remains Pakistan’s largest international market for IT exports, offering opportunities for expanded commercial cooperation.

The ambassador encouraged American companies to look beyond conventional business arrangements and explore partnerships in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, financial technology and enterprise solutions.

He also highlighted Pakistan’s young population, noting that more than 60 percent of the country’s population is under the age of 30. He described the country’s young and increasingly skilled workforce as an important resource for innovation, entrepreneurship and economic development.

IT Exports and Workforce Development

The chief executive of the Pakistan Software Export Board highlighted the expansion of Pakistan’s technology sector and its growing participation in international markets.

According to figures presented at the conference, Pakistan produces approximately 70,000 graduates annually in information technology and computer science, providing a substantial talent pool for domestic and international employers.

The conference report stated that Pakistan’s IT exports recorded average annual growth of approximately 21 percent over the past four years, with monthly exports reaching nearly $435 million in September 2026.

Officials also emphasised the importance of the US market to Pakistan’s IT services and technology exports. They said the sector’s growth and workforce capacity could help attract further international business and investment.

Thirteen Pakistani IT Companies Showcase Their Capabilities

A key feature of Pak-US Tech Connect 2026 was the participation of 13 Pakistani technology companies with international experience and expertise across several digital sectors.

Company representatives presented their solutions, international projects, technical capabilities and experience serving global clients.

The conference focused on direct business-to-business engagement, giving Pakistani firms opportunities to meet American corporate decision-makers, investors, technology buyers and potential strategic partners.

Business representatives from Dallas-Fort Worth and other parts of Texas took part in discussions about possible commercial cooperation, technology partnerships and investment opportunities.

Ambassador Sheikh said the initiative aimed not only to showcase Pakistan’s technology capabilities but also to turn professional connections into practical business relationships and long-term commercial outcomes.

Pakistani-American Community Encouraged to Build Business Links

Recognising the Pakistani-American community’s role in bilateral relations, Ambassador Sheikh encouraged entrepreneurs, investors and technology professionals to help connect US businesses with Pakistan’s technology sector.

He highlighted the community’s professional networks, entrepreneurial experience and institutional relationships as potential bridges between the two markets.

The ambassador called on community leaders to promote Pakistan as a technology partner and help facilitate investment and sustained cooperation. He also reaffirmed the Embassy of Pakistan’s commitment to supporting technology collaboration and business partnerships between the two countries.

Investment Facilitation and Institutional Cooperation

The Pakistan Software Export Board reiterated its commitment to working with relevant government institutions, including the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), to support international investors and address practical challenges related to investment and business operations.

Officials highlighted the importance of institutional coordination and appropriate support for international companies seeking partnerships with Pakistani technology firms.

The conference also gave American investors an opportunity to learn about Pakistan’s technology ecosystem, workforce and capacity to provide specialised digital services.

Washington and Chicago Events to Follow Dallas Conference

Following the Dallas gathering, the Pak-US Tech Connect 2026 series was scheduled to continue in Washington, D.C., on October 21 and Chicago on October 23.

The initiative aims to expand Pakistani technology companies’ access to the American market, encourage engagement with US corporations and strengthen Pakistan’s participation in the global digital economy.

The Dallas conference forms part of Pakistan’s broader effort to diversify its economic relationship with the United States and expand cooperation in technology, innovation and investment.

With an expanding technology workforce and increasing international engagement, Pakistan is seeking to build its presence in global technology services and develop longer-term commercial partnerships with American companies.
