Houston, Texas: The Indus Hospital Houston Chapter Gala 2026 raised $1.6 million and counting to support free, quality healthcare for patients in need. The sold-out fundraising event welcomed approximately 650 guests on October 23 at the Houston Marriott Sugar Land.

Organized by Friends of Indus Hospital, the gala brought together community leaders, philanthropists, healthcare supporters, media representatives and Pakistani entertainment personalities. The funds raised will support the hospital’s mission of providing free medical care to underserved patients.

The evening featured renowned Pakistani television and film stars Ahsan Khan and Sania Saeed, along with Fort Bend County Commissioner Dexter McCoy, Daniel Wong and attorney Nomi Hussain. Representatives from the Indus head office, community leaders, journalists and other distinguished guests also attended.

According to Dr. Shahid Hasnain, president of the Friends of Indus Hospital Houston Chapter, the event received an encouraging response from attendees. Although unexpected traffic and valet parking challenges delayed the program, guests remained enthusiastic and supportive throughout the evening.

Ahsan Khan and Sania Saeed have maintained personal connections with Indus Hospital over the years. Their visits and interactions with patients have helped them witness the hospital’s work firsthand. Their participation added significance to an evening dedicated to healthcare access and charitable giving.

Entertainment Highlights the Fundraising Evening

The gala combined fundraising with entertainment and community engagement. Sohail Haider concluded the evening with a qawwali performance, while emcee Sabrina Moheet guided the program with professionalism and energy.

Organizers also acknowledged the contributions of event partners. Asrar Saeed of TEMPURA Restaurant provided catering, while Arshad Virani of BLINK supported the decor and audiovisual arrangements. Rehan Siddiqui also received appreciation for helping promote the gala.

Special thanks went to Sadaf Patel for arranging food delivery to refugees, extending the evening’s spirit of compassion beyond the event venue.

Dr. Shahid Hasnain expressed gratitude to the executive body of the Houston Chapter, including Dr. Mohammad Hanif, Dr. Zeba Barlas, Dr. Asif Cochinwala and Fuad Cochinwala, for their leadership and dedication.

He also recognized the host committee members: Dr. Ali Haider, Dr. Murtaza Arif, Faiza Anwar, Javeria Atif, Dr. Mohammad Musa Khan, Rima Khan, Beenish Adnan, Salman Mirajwala, Dr. Naila Rauf, Saba Zaidi, Shahrukh Niazi, Dr. Suleman Ajmal, Dr. Humera Naqvi, Dr. Gulzar Nathani and Dr. Murtaza Shakir.

The organizers thanked donors, sponsors, volunteers and the wider Houston community for supporting the event.

The $1.6 million fundraising milestone marks a significant contribution to the Friends of Indus Hospital mission. Organizers emphasized that the work will continue beyond the gala, with a focus on raising funds, expanding access to treatment and supporting patients who need free healthcare.
