HOUSTON, TEXAS — Lesley Briones has secured a decisive reelection victory as Harris County Commissioner for Precinct 4, defeating Republican challenger Steve Radack by more than 61,000 votes in the November 3, 2026 general election. The victory gives Briones a second term on the Harris County Commissioners Court and represents a significant endorsement from voters across her precinct.

A Decisive Margin

The gap of 61,855 votes between the two candidates makes the contest one of the clearer outcomes on the Harris County ballot. With every precinct reporting, Briones carried nearly two of every three votes cast in the race. The result is unofficial, and the final tally will be confirmed once the canvass is complete.

Victory Celebration

Briones celebrated the result with supporters at her election-night watch party, an evening marked by gratitude and cheerful speeches. Campaign volunteers and young attendees wore black “Reelect Lesley Briones” T-shirts, and the stage was framed by banners bearing her name and the words “Harris County Commissioner Pct. 4.”

Her supporters and campaign team marked the occasion following a closely watched contest against former commissioner Steve Radack, who previously served Harris County Precinct 3 for 32 years.

Supporters and Community Members Gather

Guests from many backgrounds filled the venue throughout the evening. Community members, campaign volunteers and local leaders stopped for photographs with the candidate, and the mood throughout the night was warm and celebratory.

  • Former civil court judge.
  • First elected to the Commissioners Court in 2022.

The Challenger: Steve Radack

Steve Radack, a Republican, returned to the ballot after a long career on the Commissioners Court, where he represented Precinct 3 for 32 years. His name recognition made the race closely watched, but voters in Precinct 4 ultimately chose to keep Briones in office.

The outcome is also an important development for multicultural communities in the Houston area, many of whom were represented among the supporters who gathered to celebrate on election night.
