Baraka condemned a raid by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents on a local institution, claiming that both undocumented individuals and U.S. citizens were detained without warrants. The raid has drawn criticism from Democratic senators Cory Booker and Andy Kim, who expressed concerns over the actions. Trump had previously signed executive orders aimed at stopping illegal immigration and deploying more troops to the southern border.
