December 30, 2024 – Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, renowned as a global peacemaker, passed away at 100. Carter, the 39th President (1977–1981), is remembered for his pivotal role in the Camp David Accords and his lifelong dedication to humanitarian efforts.

World leaders, including UN Secretary-General António Guterres and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, have hailed Carter’s legacy of diplomacy and human rights. Tributes poured in from the Middle East, where his efforts shaped peace initiatives, and globally for his work through the Carter Center.

Carter’s state funeral will be held in Washington, D.C., honoring a life devoted to peace and service.
