Punjab Food Authority Raids Illegal Slaughterhouse in Mandi Bahauddin, 800 Kg of Dead Animal Meat Seized

A food safety team led by Deputy Director Punjab Food Authority Adeel Ahmed raided an illegal slaughterhouse in the Jund Bosal area of ​​​​Mandi Bahauddin district and recovered 800 kg of dead animal meat and destroyed it. A case has been registered against four butchers, the accused escaped before being arrested. On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a crackdown is underway across the province against butchers supplying meat of dead, semi-dead and sick animals across Punjab. On the orders of Director General Punjab Food Authority Muhammad Asim Javed and under the leadership of Additional Director Operations Gujranwala Muhammad Sajjad Gondal and under the supervision of Deputy Director Punjab Food Authority Adeel Ahmed, food safety teams raided the house of accused Shabbir Ahmed in the village of Jund Bosal in Mandi Bahauddin, where the accused had set up an illegal slaughterhouse and there the meat of dead, semi-dead, sick and weak animals was prepared and supplied to different areas. When the food safety team reached the illegal slaughterhouse, four accused including Shabbir Ahmed escaped by jumping over the walls on seeing them. The food safety team recovered 800 kg of meat there, which was smelly and unhealthy, while some sick, weak and half-dead animals were also lying there. Veterinary Officer Dr. Amjad Rauf declared the meat unhealthy after inspection, on which the food safety team destroyed the smelly meat of dead and sick animals on the spot, while the police seized the rickshaw and motorcycle there. Gojra police have registered a case against four butchers including accused Shabbir Ahmed on the request of Food Safety Officer Muhammad Usman Ahmed and the police are conducting raids at various places to arrest the butchers.
