DG FDA Orders Criminal Cases Against Illegal Land Developers

Director General Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA), Muhammad Asif Chaudhry, has directed that criminal cases be filed against land developers involved in illegal activities to ensure strict enforcement of the law. He issued these instructions while hearing public grievances at his office. Additional Director General FDA, Qaiser Abbas Rand; Director Town Planning, Asma Mohsin; Director IT, Yasir Ijaz Chatha; and other officials were present during the meeting. Under the Government of Punjab’s open-door policy, the DG listened to citizens’ complaints and instructed relevant officers to take immediate action to resolve their issues.
The DG emphasized that operations against illegal housing schemes are ongoing on a permanent basis, and any attempt to flout the law will be dealt with firmly. He warned private housing scheme developers against selling plot files without owning the allocated land, stressing that fraud and deception against citizens would be met with strict action.
He directed the Director Town Planning to initiate departmental action against developers violating regulations, impose fines under the relevant rules for unauthorized developments, and ensure recovery of dues. The DG also instructed prompt action against land grabbers, encroachments, illegal constructions, and violations of building laws, while regularly monitoring the illegal commercialization of residential properties.
Furthermore, he stressed the importance of immediate compliance with court orders, effective follow-up of legal cases, and full protection of the institution’s interests. He highlighted that delays in the inheritance transfer of properties should be avoided, and applicants must be provided swift relief.

The DG informed citizens that numerous modern reforms are being implemented to enhance service delivery through digital technology, allowing for online processing of ownership clearance certificates, town planning reports, possession slips, and other NOCs in real-time. He reaffirmed his commitment to further improve the speed and quality of services and encouraged citizens to contact his office during working hours without hesitation for any assistance regarding their issues.
