Khawaja Salman Rafique and Chief Secretary Punjab visit Mayo Hospital, review restoration project. A restoration project for Asia’s largest and historic Mayo Hospital has been launched on the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz. In this regard, Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique and Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman visited Mayo Hospital and inspected various departments. During the visit, it was decided to restore the historical buildings of Mayo Hospital according to their original architecture, while the famous “Clock Ward” of the hospital will also be restored in its ancient form. Secretary C&W gave a detailed briefing on the various stages of the restoration project. Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said that providing the best medical facilities to patients in hospitals is the top priority of the government and this project has taken practical form on the instructions of the Chief Minister. The Chief Secretary Punjab directed that the C&W department complete the rehabilitation work within the stipulated time and that there should be no hindrance in the treatment of patients during the construction activities. On the occasion of the visit, Secretary Health Azmat Mahmood, Secretary C&W Sohail Ashraf, Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University Professor Mahmood Ayaz and MS Mayo Hospital also gave a briefing about the project.
