Lala Rubin Daniel and Pervez Iqbal Bhatti Meet Punjab Law Minister Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan Through MPA Mian Tahir Jameel

Faisalabad: Lala Rubin Daniel and Pervez Iqbal Bhatti, through Mian Tahir Jameel MPA, held an important meeting with Punjab Law Minister Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, during which concerns regarding alleged false drug cases in Faisalabad were discussed in detail.

During the meeting, Mian Tahir Jameel MPA and Rana Sharyar Khan MPA briefed the Law Minister on the matter raised through a call attention notice regarding the registration of alleged fabricated narcotics cases in the city. It was also shared that, on the direction of the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, an inquiry committee has been constituted under the supervision of the Law Minister Punjab to investigate the matter.

During the meeting, a formal request was submitted demanding that Christian individuals from Faisalabad, who are reportedly affected, should also be included in the inquiry process to present their statements and clarify their position.

According to the application, several individuals who are licensed liquor permit holders have been implicated in serious narcotics cases under sections 9B and 9C of drug laws, despite the claim that they have no connection with illegal drugs such as ice, hashish, or heroin.

The petition further stated that such narcotics are not produced or associated with their communities and that whenever pressure increases on drug crackdowns, liquor permit holders often become easy targets.

The participants stressed that this practice raises serious concerns of injustice and urged that the inquiry must be conducted in a transparent, impartial, and fact-based manner to ensure fair treatment of the affected individuals and accountability of those responsible.
