European Leaders Back Ukraine, Propose Peace Plan at London Summit

At a summit in London, European leaders rallied behind Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, agreeing to formulate a peace plan for Ukraine. This united front followed a contentious meeting between Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called for a “coalition of the willing” to support Ukraine, proposing a month-long ceasefire and increased defense spending. He emphasized Europe’s responsibility in leading peace efforts and announced £1.6 billion in UK export finances to supply over 5,000 air defense missiles to Ukraine.

French President Emmanuel Macron supported these initiatives, highlighting the need for a coordinated European response. The summit underscored Europe’s commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty and security, aiming to deter future aggression.

The Kremlin criticized the summit’s outcomes, stating that increased funding to Kyiv would not facilitate a peaceful resolution.

This summit marked a pivotal moment in Europe’s efforts to address the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and seek a sustainable peace solution.
