According to Levies officials, the firing incident occurred in the Pirokhanri area of Balochistan’s Kachhi (Bolan) district, resulting in the injury of the train driver. At the time, the train was stationary inside a tunnel.
Sources confirm the train was en route from Quetta to Peshawar when a blast was first triggered on the tracks, followed by gunfire directed at the train. This led to an exchange of fire between security personnel aboard the train and the armed attackers.
Shahid Rind, the spokesperson for the Balochistan government, stated that there were reports of intense firing on the Jaffer Express, which was targeted by terrorists. Ambulances have been dispatched to the site, and an emergency has been declared at Sibi Hospital.
Railway officials mentioned that Jaffer Express consists of 9 carriages and was carrying more than 400 passengers. The train had departed Quetta at 9 a.m. today.
