In a ceremony held at Islamabad Airport, the Russian Ambassador officially presented 30,000 kilograms of humanitarian aid to Pakistan through the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The aid, delivered by a special Russian government aircraft, was intended to support ongoing relief efforts in Pakistan.
Mr. Albert Khorev, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation, emphasized the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Russia, recalling Russia’s past humanitarian assistance to Pakistan, including aid following the 2005 earthquakes and the 2022 floods. He reaffirmed that this latest shipment was aimed at assisting Pakistan’s relief efforts during challenging times.
Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan, the Additional Foreign Secretary for Europe, expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the Pakistani government, thanking the Russian government and people for their continued support. He highlighted the importance of this humanitarian gesture in strengthening the solidarity between the two nations.
The NDMA transferred the aid to the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, which will oversee its distribution to those in need.
