Without Real Democracy, All Experiments by Powerful Forces Have Failed: Asghar Khan Achakzai
ANP Rejects Division of Provinces on Administrative Grounds, Calls It a Threat to Historical and Cultural Identity
Awami National Party (ANP) Provincial President Asghar Khan Achakzai stated that without the restoration of genuine democracy, no political adventure or experiment can succeed in the country.
He said that under an organized plan, political forces have been weakened and deliberately kept in conflict with one another, while insecurity, extremism, and terrorism have been imposed to facilitate the plundering of national resources.
Asghar Khan Achakzai expressed these views while addressing participants at the workers’ convention organized by Awami National Party Tehsil Chaman City.
He strongly rejected the division of provinces on administrative grounds, calling it a sinister attempt to erase the historical, cultural, and national identity of nations. He said the Awami National Party would never allow such attempts to succeed under any circumstances.
The ANP leader further stated that giving a free hand to armed groups across the province, creating conflicts among brotherly tribes, and using unrest to achieve hidden objectives was completely unacceptable. He emphasized that the Awami National Party would continue its struggle for tolerance, peace, and brotherhood.
Asghar Khan Achakzai also paid tribute to all office-bearers of the City Tehsil for organizing what he described as a successful and outstanding workers’ convention.
The convention was also addressed by Provincial General Secretary Mabat Kaka, Central Additional Deputy Secretary Javed Kakar, Member Central Committee Dr. Abdul Samad Achakzai, Provincial Culture Secretary Hazrat Ali Achakzai, District President Abdul Khaliq Haqmal, Tehsil City President Gul Jano, General Secretary Muhammad Ali Madla, Chairman Gul Zaman, Sabir Khan, Sharafuddin Sahib, and other party leaders.
The workers’ convention was presided over by Tehsil City President Gul Jano. Earlier, the Tehsil City performance report was presented before participants, who reviewed the report in detail and offered suggestions regarding future organizational activities.
The speakers emphasized that party workers are the real strength and asset of the Awami National Party. They said political and organizational training of workers is the need of the hour so they can effectively address national, political, and economic challenges faced by the people while protecting democratic and national rights.
They further stressed that coordination among office-bearers at the basic unit, tehsil, and district levels, along with close contact with the public, is essential for political success. Leaders were urged to remain aware of public issues at the grassroots level.
The speakers reiterated that the Awami National Party has always struggled for principled politics, democratic traditions, constitutional supremacy, and the rights of oppressed nations, and would continue raising its voice for people’s rights at every forum.
In the current political situation, they said, political workers carry a heavy responsibility to create public awareness and encourage the younger generation toward positive political participation.
At the conclusion of the convention, party leaders urged office-bearers and workers to utilize all their capabilities for the development and prosperity of the homeland and emphasized the importance of making the upcoming Zhara Band Tehsil Workers’ Convention on June 7 a success through strong organizational preparations.
