Provincial government has badly failed to maintain law and order: Maulana Abdul Wasay
A grand “Paigham-e-Aman” (Message of Peace) conference was organized by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Chaman City. The chief guests of the conference were the provincial Ameer of JUI, Senator Maulana Abdul Wasay, and Provincial General Secretary Syed Agha Maulana Mahmood Shah.
On this occasion, the entire city of Chaman was decorated with party flags and posters. The youth of Ansar-ul-Islam ensured excellent discipline and arrangements throughout the event. Upon the arrival of Maulana Abdul Wasay and other guests at the venue, all participants stood up and warmly welcomed them.
The conference was presided over by City Ameer Maulana Shamsullah, while General Secretary City Chaman and District Chairman Haji Amanullah supervised the arrangements.
The speakers at the gathering included Maulana Abdul Wasay, Syed Agha Maulana Mahmood Shah, Central Finance Secretary Maulana Salahuddin Ayubi, Maulana Dad Muhammad, Maulana Abdul Mannan, Mufti Muhammad Qasim, Maulana Hafiz Muhammad Yousaf, Hafiz Gul, Maulana Muhammad Mir, Maulana Abdul Khaliq Khadim, Haji Jalil, Haji Attaullah Khan Achakzai, Abdul Waris Janisar, and others. The stage secretary duties were performed by Abdul Qadir Muslim Yar, head of the stage committee.
While addressing the gathering, the speakers said that the government in Balochistan has completely failed to maintain law and order and is now unsuccessfully trying to suppress religious seminaries through notices. They emphasized that seminaries are a red line for Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam.
They further stated that the people of Chaman are suffering due to ongoing insecurity and unemployment, and thousands have been deprived of their livelihoods due to the closure of the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The speakers urged that Afghanistan and Pakistan should resolve their issues through dialogue.
Meanwhile, in a special interview with senior journalist Syed Sardar Muhammad Khondai, Maulana Abdul Wasay said that the Balochistan government and powerful authorities are creating difficulties for themselves day by day. He termed interference in seminaries as unfortunate for the country and the province.
He warned that if the bill related to seminaries, passed by the National Assembly and Senate along with the Mines and Minerals Bill, is not implemented, they will have no option but to launch strong protests, which is their constitutional and legal right.
He added that the government should take concrete steps to ensure peace in the province and make travel on highways safe. Instead of addressing its failures, the government is targeting seminaries, which is regrettable. He also criticized the allocation of millions of acres of land and announced that instructions have been issued to all districts to prepare for strong (protests) if their demands are not met by May 2.
