15 June 2020: The Day That Changed a Family Forever

By Muhammad Mansoor Mumtaz

Some dates remain etched in a person’s memory forever. For Muhammad Mansoor Mumtaz, 15 June 2020 is one such day—a day that brought both immense sorrow and profound gratitude.

On that tragic day, his beloved mother lost her life in a devastating road accident, while several other family members survived despite sustaining serious injuries. The incident left a lasting impact on the family and became a powerful reminder of faith, patience, and the unpredictable nature of life.

The Tragic Accident

According to Muhammad Mansoor Mumtaz, his mother was traveling with his two sons, Hafiz Muhammad Ahmad and Hanzala Butt, along with other family members, including Sadia Kashif, her children Muhammad Ahmad, Afnan, and Arham, and nephew Taha Butt, who was driving the vehicle.

The journey was proceeding normally when a sudden tire burst caused the vehicle to lose control. The vehicle overturned multiple times before crashing into a green belt alongside the road.

Rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene and transported the injured to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Pindi Bhattian, where medical treatment continued for several hours.

Despite doctors’ efforts, Muhammad Mansoor Mumtaz’s mother succumbed to her injuries due to excessive blood loss.

A Mother’s Final Moments

Family members and eyewitnesses recalled that even during her final moments, despite severe injuries and pain, she continued reciting:

“La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah (SAW).”

The remembrance of Allah until her last breath remains a source of comfort and inspiration for her family.

A Miracle Amid Tragedy

While the family mourned the loss of a beloved mother, they also witnessed what they describe as Allah’s mercy.

All other passengers survived the horrific accident and eventually recovered from their injuries through medical treatment, prayers, and community support.

Among the survivors was Hafiz Muhammad Ahmad Butt, who later fulfilled his grandmother’s wish by completing the memorization of the Holy Quran.

Today, he leads Taraweeh prayers and recites the Quran annually during Ramadan—an achievement that brings both pride and emotional reflection to the family.

A Lesson in Faith and Patience

Reflecting on the tragedy, Muhammad Mansoor Mumtaz says the accident taught him the reality of life and strengthened his faith in Allah’s decree.

He described his mother as a symbol of love, sacrifice, compassion, and prayer, adding that while time may ease pain, the absence of a mother can never truly be replaced.

Prayer for the Departed

Concluding his heartfelt reflection, Muhammad Mansoor Mumtaz requested prayers for his late mother and all deceased Muslims, asking Allah Almighty to forgive them, elevate their ranks, illuminate their graves, and grant them the highest place in Paradise.

“May Allah grant patience to those who have lost loved ones and give us the ability to honor and serve our parents while they are with us.”

Ameen.
