Lady Willingdon Hospital surgery video scandal sparks outrage over patient privacy and medical ethics
At Lady Willingdon Hospital, four lady doctors have been suspended after a video was allegedly recorded during a C-section operation, prompting the health authorities to take serious notice of the incident. According to sources, the Secretary of Specialized Healthcare has issued a show-cause notice to the Head of Gynae Unit-I. The notice states that recording a video during a surgical procedure is against medical ethics and amounts to violating the dignity of the patient. The show-cause notice further emphasizes that the conduct of the doctors involved is not only contrary to patient safety standards but also undermines public trust in medical professionals. The competent authority has sought an explanation regarding negligence and failure in the performance of clinical duties.
It is noteworthy that the alleged video went viral on social media, causing widespread concern among the public. In response, the health department has initiated immediate disciplinary action against those responsible.
