The Pakistani community in Houston gathered at the Pakistan consulate to celebrate the nation’s 78th Independence Day with a spirited flag-hoisting ceremony. Consul General of Pakistan Aftab Choudhery led the event, which included the raising of the national flag to the sound of the national anthem and the reading of special messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister of Pakistan. A large number of community members attended the ceremony.
