International Boxing Championship Kicks Off in Lahore; 44 Fighters from 15 Countries Compete in “Fight for Glory”

Lahore has once again become the center of global sporting attention as the second International Boxing Championship, titled “Fight for Glory,” commenced in the provincial capital. Organized in collaboration with the World Boxing Association (WBA), the event marks a significant milestone in Pakistan’s sports calendar, reflecting the country’s growing stature and the international community’s increasing confidence in Pakistan.

A total of 44 professional boxers from 15 countries are participating, including 6 Pakistani and 38 international fighters. Competitors and officials from the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Korea, Australia, Ireland, the Philippines, Netherlands, Morocco, Ghana, Benin, France and several other nations have arrived in Lahore to take part in this prestigious championship.

Foreign boxers expressed delight upon reaching Pakistan, praising the nation’s hospitality, improved sporting infrastructure and the rising talent of Pakistani fighters. They termed Pakistan a safe, energetic and sports-friendly country, stating that competing against Pakistani athletes is an honor.

The championship will continue from November 26 to 29 at Jinnah Sports Complex, Lahore Garrison. A large turnout of sports enthusiasts, national heroes, sports officials and celebrities is expected, adding vibrancy to the event.

The tournament is being held with joint support from the Government of Punjab, Fauji Foundation and Lahore Corps, highlighting the strong civil-military collaboration in promoting sports across Pakistan.

The international-level event is anticipated to play a vital role in boosting Pakistan’s soft image, strengthening global sporting ties and opening new avenues for sports tourism. With the arrival of world-class athletes, Lahore is brimming with excitement, energy and a renewed international spirit, making “Fight for Glory” one of the most anticipated sports events of the year.
