Houston, Texas — June 12, 2026

Under the auspices of the MQM Houston Chapter, the 48th Foundation Day of the All Pakistan Muttahida Students Organization (APMSO) was celebrated with great devotion, ideological commitment, and organizational enthusiasm on June 11, 2026, at a local restaurant in Houston, Texas.

The event was attended by MQM office bearers, workers, sympathizers, youth, women, and respected members of the community. Participants paid rich tribute to the founding of APMSO, its historic struggle, its role in raising awareness among the youth, the MQM movement, and the intellectual and practical struggle of the Quaid-e-Tehreek Mr. Altaf Hussain.

The event was hosted by MQM Houston Chapter In-charge Burhan Khan, and the program officially commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Najeeb Ahmed. Following the recitation, participants expressed their resolve, loyalty, and organizational commitment on the occasion of APMSO’s Foundation Day.

On this occasion, MQM Houston Chapter Joint In-charge Engineer Asim Rizvi addressed the gathering and said that APMSO is not merely the name of a student organization, but rather the foundation of awareness, education, organization, struggle, and truth-seeking that gave the oppressed and deprived people a sense of their identity, rights, and representation. He said that youth are the future of any nation, and APMSO showed the younger generation the path of peaceful political and intellectual struggle against oppression and injustice.

APMSO Chairman Engineer Sarfaraz Ahmed Siddiqui also addressed the gathering. Shedding light on APMSO’s historic struggle, he said that June 11 is not merely an organizational foundation day but a significant milestone in Pakistan’s student, political, and intellectual history. He said that APMSO instilled in the youth the awareness that the progress of nations is possible through education, character, organization, sacrifice, and steadfast struggle. He further stated that APMSO’s struggle remains a guiding light for the youth to this day.

MQM Deputy Convener Engineer Syed Atif Shamim, in his address, paid glowing tribute to APMSO, MQM, and the struggle of Quaid-e-Tehreek Mr. Altaf Hussain. He said that APMSO is the historic platform that gave the oppressed and deprived people — particularly the youth of the Muhajir nation — a message of awareness, identity, and the right to representation. He said that the struggle which Quaid-e-Tehreek Mr. Altaf Hussain began through student politics later became the voice of millions of oppressed people.

Engineer Syed Atif Shamim said that the foundation of APMSO was laid on education, awareness, organization, and practical struggle. This movement taught the youth that rights are not obtained by asking but through conscious, organized, and peaceful struggle. He said that the MQM movement gave a voice to the common man against hereditary politics, feudal mindset, class discrimination, and injustice, and played a historic role in bringing him to the halls of power.

He further said that Quaid-e-Tehreek Mr. Altaf Hussain’s struggle was not confined to a single class, language, or region, but rather he raised his voice for the rights, dignity, justice, and equality of all oppressed and deprived people of Pakistan. He said that even today, MQM workers and sympathizers around the world remain committed to Quaid-e-Tehreek’s ideology, philosophy, and struggle, and are determined to keep the flag of truth-seeking raised high in every difficult time.

During his address, Engineer Syed Atif Shamim demanded the immediate removal of the illegal and unconstitutional restrictions imposed on Quaid-e-Tehreek Mr. Altaf Hussain’s speeches, statements, photographs, and political activities. He said that suppressing any political leader’s voice, cutting the people off from their leader, and the undeclared restrictions on MQM’s peaceful political activities are contrary to democratic principles, the constitution, freedom of expression, the right of assembly, the right to organize, and fundamental political rights. The participants at the event responded with thunderous applause, fully endorsing this demand and expressing their unwavering commitment to Quaid-e-Tehreek Mr. Altaf Hussain.

The speakers at the event emphasized that the occasion of APMSO’s Foundation Day demands that the younger generation make education, character, discipline, intellectual maturity, and organizational commitment their guiding principles. The speakers said that in today’s world, youth should serve their nation and society through social media, modern education, political awareness, human rights, democratic values, and peaceful struggle.
During the event, participants expressed their unwavering commitment to Quaid-e-Tehreek Mr. Altaf Hussain, their loyalty to APMSO’s mission, and their resolve to continue the struggle of MQM. Participants reaffirmed that APMSO’s 48th Foundation Day is a day of renewal of pledge for the younger generation, and a commitment was made that the struggle for truth-seeking, ideological commitment, organizational discipline, and the rights of the oppressed people will continue.

The MQM Houston Chapter thanked all office bearers, workers, sympathizers, women, youth, and community members who attended the event, and said that overseas workers and sympathizers will continue to play their role in highlighting Quaid-e-Tehreek Mr. Altaf Hussain’s ideology and MQM’s mission across the world.
