UAF Scholarships: Rs 25 Million Financial Support Announced for Deserving Students in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: A major financial boost has been announced for students of University of Agriculture Faisalabad as the Sultan Ali Shukro Barkat Educational Foundation added Rs 25 million to its scholarship program for deserving students. Additionally, a new scholarship titled Dr Abdul Hafeez Educational Foundation has been launched with an allocation of Rs 2.5 million for UAF students. Philanthropist Dr Pervez Sultan formally handed over the cheques to Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali at his office. Director Financial Assistance Dr Nazia Ehsan and Assistant Director Waqar Akber Khan were also present on the occasion.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Pervez Sultan highlighted the importance of education as a powerful tool for transforming lives and societies. He stressed that supporting talented but financially challenged students is a shared responsibility and expressed hope that these scholarships would enable students to focus on their academic pursuits and contribute effectively to national development. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali appreciated the generous contribution, calling it a commendable step toward promoting inclusive education. He stated that such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening the academic environment and uplifting deserving students.

He further added that more than 7,500 students are currently benefiting from various UAF scholarships programs at UAF, reaffirming the university’s commitment to ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder the academic journey of talented youth.

Director Financial Assistance Dr Nazia Ehsan said that UAF is working diligently to maintain a transparent and merit-based scholarship system for students across the country. She noted that such financial support not only reduces the burden on students but also motivates them to excel academically and contribute positively to society.
