Pakistan Highlighted at Asian Heritage Month Event in Canadian Senate

High Commission Participates in “Pakistan” Event Hosted by Senator Salma Ataullahjan in Ottawa

Ottawa:

The High Commission of Pakistan participated in the “Pakistan” event organized by Hon. Senator Salma Ataullahjan in the Senators Chamber at the Senate of Canada building in Ottawa on May 6, 2026, as part of the month-long “Asian Heritage Month” celebrations in Canada.

Around 80 guests attended the special event, including Hon’ble Senators, Hon’ble Members of the House of Commons, Canadian dignitaries, representatives of the diplomatic corps, members of the Pakistani community, and local media representatives.

During the event, the High Commission presented publicity material and a video clip highlighting Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, art, tourism, adventure sports, and cuisine.

High Commissioner Muhammad Saleem extended gratitude to Hon. Senator Salma Ataullahjan for organizing the “Pakistan” event at the prestigious premises of the Senate of Canada. He emphasized the importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary exchanges between the bicameral parliaments of Pakistan and Canada through the existing Parliamentary Friendship Groups.

The High Commissioner also highlighted the immense opportunities for enhancing Pakistan-Canada economic, trade, investment, and tourism relations for mutual benefit.
