Mississauga:
Mr. Muhammad Saleem, the High Commissioner of Pakistan to Canada, inaugurated the Sadequain Art Exhibition in Mississauga on Friday to celebrate the enduring legacy of Syed Sadequain Ahmed Naqvi (1930–1987), one of Pakistan’s most distinguished artistic visionaries.
Organized by the Sadequain Foundation in collaboration with local hosts and media partners, the exhibition aims to present the profound depth, symbolism, and cultural resonance embedded in Sadequain’s invaluable body of artwork.
The three-day exhibition is expected to attract a diverse audience, including art and calligraphy enthusiasts, members of the media, civil society representatives, and students from the Aga Khan Foundation Academy Toronto and other institutions.

Through this immersive experience, visitors are being offered a rare opportunity to engage with Sadequain’s extraordinary artistic expression through Islamic calligraphy, paintings, drawings, murals, and Urdu poetry, while also reflecting on Pakistan’s immense contribution to the global landscape of art and culture.
Adding intellectual depth to the event, renowned Pakistani scholar and poet Ashfaq Hussain is expected to provide thoughtful insight into Sadequain’s multifaceted legacy, exploring his remarkable contributions to visual art, poetry, and scholarship.
The exhibition highlights the continued appreciation of Pakistani art and culture within Canada and serves as an important platform for cultural dialogue and artistic exchange.
