Agreement Reached to Convene an All Parties Conference Against Terrorism and Lawlessness in the Province

An important meeting of Pashtun nationalist political and democratic parties was held at the residence of Awami National Party (ANP) Provincial President Asghar Khan Achakzai under the chairmanship of Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party Provincial President Nasrullah Khan Zerey.
The meeting was attended by ANP Provincial President Asghar Khan Achakzai, National Democratic Movement Provincial President Ahmad Jan Khan, ANP Central Secretary for Youth Affairs Rashid Khan Nasir, Provincial Secretary for Culture Hazrat Ali Achakzai, and Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party Provincial Office Secretary Nida Muhammad Sangar.
The participants held detailed discussions on the overall political, economic, and law-and-order situation in the province. They expressed deep concern and sorrow over the martyrdom of five political workers and civilians and the injury of four others in Shahrag, District Harnai; the abduction of four individuals from Killi Mangi in District Ziarat; the burning of trucks and vehicles on national highways; and the increasing incidents of terrorism, insecurity, and lawlessness across the province.
The meeting strongly condemned the abduction of four individuals from Killi Mangi, District Ziarat, and demanded their immediate and safe recovery.
The participants reaffirmed their full support for the legitimate demands and ongoing democratic movement of the people of Shahrag, stating that all attempts to suppress the struggle for public rights would fail and that Pashtun nationalist political forces would continue to stand with the people of Shahrag.
The meeting strongly condemned the prevailing situation of terrorism, insecurity, kidnapping for ransom, extortion, lawlessness, human rights violations, and state oppression in the province. Participants stated that ensuring the protection of citizens’ lives and property, maintaining law and order, and providing a secure environment are fundamental constitutional responsibilities of the federal and provincial governments as well as state institutions. Unfortunately, persistent failures in this regard have left the public feeling insecure, fearful, and uncertain about the future.
The meeting noted that the growing incidents of terrorism, kidnappings, killings, armed attacks on highways, and destruction of public property throughout the province demonstrate the state’s and government’s failure to fulfill their responsibilities for public safety. Participants expressed serious concern that despite extensive security arrangements, broad powers, and vast resources, citizens’ lives and property remain unprotected, forcing people to live under constant fear.
The meeting made it clear that the political, administrative, and moral responsibility for the deteriorating law-and-order situation, terrorism, and insecurity in the province lies with the federal and provincial governments and the relevant state institutions. Participants demanded immediate and effective measures to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property, secure the recovery of abducted persons, prevent acts of terrorism, and establish lasting peace.
While strongly condemning all such terrorist and inhumane incidents, the meeting decided that a broader joint meeting of all political and democratic parties in the province would soon be convened. The conference will conduct a detailed review of the current situation and formulate a joint strategy to protect the lives and property of the people, establish peace, and address the political and security challenges facing the province.
